December 31, 2008
And so this is Christmas, Another year older and deeper in debt!
Might as well be...this year was one hum-dinger! And it ain't over yet. This morning I woke up with a cold sore and running to the bathroom on top, fun in the big city!
This year I lost my friends, Bo and Eddy, my life long therapy sessions faded away to nothing after getting severe panic attacks driving the bridge to meet him, lost my health insurance for a month, and maybe my part time job, half my 401K, I have $700.00 worth of surfing equipment that gathered dust because of high gas prices and a sore back and working all month June, didn't help get to the ocean this year. There is a bright side to all of this, I am pretty much a full time graphic designer and webmaster, and Obama is the next president and we might be going to Arizona in a couple of months for my birthday, so all is not lost. The loved ones I do have, I do have, might not be a whole bunch but one is really all you need. So probably no champagne tonight, my stomach is all jittery from the cold sore and other stresses. So I'll be making a new News page to replace this one. See you next year.

Breaking News: Snow Happens
Well got what I "didn't want" for xmas, another snow on the roof leak into my room. Judy and I spent 2 hours shoveling, dustpanning and sweeping the roof of the apartment to hopefully stop the leak from the ceiling light fixture. I can see the wall and closet ceiling are blistering from water satuation. So we had to call our landlord and leave a message, it is xmas after all...as of 8PM it still sporadically leaks, and this all starting exactly at noon.

Our Van Has a New Window
9AM: the guy came and put in a new window for our van, hopefully, no one will break it out any time soon.
They're calling for more snow, and again, hopefully, not as much as predicted.

Breaking News: We Were Robbed! Our Van Broken Into
11AM: Not only did we have 5 to 7 inches of snow, our van was broken into also, so we have to replace the drivers side window, on Tuesday is the earliest, the joys of xmas!
Man, just can't get a break, well, (maybe the window break), but just when you think it's safe again, wham! Oh to be in Arizona in a gated community...dream dream dream.
2:15 PM Ok, it's still snowing, I'm just afraid of the ceiling leaking, I already put out a bucket to catch it, so hopefully I can relax a "little" bit.
I'm starting to get over the shock of the van window shattered and putting plastic over it on this continually snowing cold first day of winter, now the depression is sinking slowly into me, it's like a constant struggle with weather and neighborhood here in Fremont, I just don't get it, what happened here, when did Seattle turn into Alaska and L.A.?

Artic Blast! Day 7
Unbelievable how upset and worried I am about this up coming storm, they have me so upset I'm almost sick, and that's sick in itself!
 December 19, 2008
Artic Blast! Day 6
It's sooooooo cccold, brrrrrrrrrrr, I can't take this much longer! We had two buses hit each other on a icy hill and one almost went over the edge of the road onto the freeway, exciting times this winter, which I think isn't offical until later this week. This weekend, we're suppose to have some major new storm blast thru here, snow, xtreme high winds and freezing temps, oh boy.
December 18, 2008
Artic Blast! Day 5
Ok, I'm sorta getting use to the cold temperatures, now after waiting all day yesterday and no snow, the forecasters said, no worries, just rain, but guess what, when we woke up, we had snow! Not that I don't like snow, I do, really, if I don't have to drive in it, but my biggest concern is, my roof leaks when there's snow and ice and it leaks thru my ceiling light, into my room so, concerned about that mostly. So, with all the christmasy snow and awe, I get to sit and worry about potential drips from the ceiling, so, I'm not a happy camper.
December 16, 2008
Artic Blast! Day 3
Well, if it stays at this temp and not any colder, I can tolerate it for a little bit, a very little bit, so hopefully it will all get back to normal soon. We had to replace our 23 year old bathroom faucet, it just wore out and it's so much different now, a little too small of a nozzle coming out and it doesn't swivel, just moves up and down and left and right, more stuff to get use to. Started remaking 4 Your Eyes Only website, for the new year, and it's slow going, not very inspired these days just plowing through it, hopefully, inspiration will sloop down and make it all awesome-e.
Also this week, I've discovered Google Earth's flight simulator, that's a lot of fun, there is a help guide to show you all the aspects, still haven't really read it, just like crashing it a lot and spinning around into the ground.
December 14, 2008
Artic Blast!
Brrrrrrr!!! I'm freezing and I hate it...Freezing and snowy and cold, too cold! And it ain't gonna get any better soon! They're now saying until next week, I don't think I can take that, it's soooooo cold!

Seattle vs. L.A.
Again, Seattle is becoming L.A. without the good things, lots of shootings, traffic, etc. But it's Thanksgiving week and we're all heading to Judy's mom's for dinner and etc. This year our friends Bruce and Becky are coming with us, so it'll be interesting, hopefully the weather will be nice and not raining. So far it looks like it's a bit chilly but sunny. Just finishing up on lots of Ads and website updates, I still have to remake my donnneon website, it's not quite the way I want it. sooo, blah, blah, blah. Happy Thanksgiving!
November 14, 2008
I like the Google!
Just held my breath and downloaded another browser today, Google Chrome, I love the google! It's as nice as Opera, my two fav browsers, if you don't have them, they're nice, along with Firefox and Safari, and IE, if one doesn't work the other will. I'm still considering OpenID, still reading up on it and then probably onto Google Gmail's video link, at least think about these for awhile. Crispy weather we're having, and still taking daily walks even in the rain, how fun doing a diet is, Not! And just in time for Thanksgiving, but I always go on a diet during the holidays, not in the summer when I'm suppose to..oh well.
November 5, 2008
Remember the 5th of November
Not only a John Lennon lyric, but also the first day the election is over and BHO won, so is it pronounced Boo or Bo? Anyway, glad that's over and done, now maybe we can get back to normal and start America back on track in the global race to the future. And I'm still working on Ads, webs and other graphic stuff, and winter is just a rain drop away!

Back to Work
Copying, copying, copying and fixing websites and Ads, wow, can't even get over to the surf shop or watch my fav TV shows!

Summer is Over
It's official, at least in my book, summer is gone. I guess my last bike ride for the season was a couple of days ago, I kinda figured that. Oh well. Chilly today, might have to break out the flannel for the rest of the year and so on. Still haven't gotten my muse back, but I'm struggling through the designing, both in Ads and websites. The indian restaurant hasn't gotten back to me yet, but Bad Woman wants a makeover, and someone else in the Wallingford Center might want a website, we'll see.
September 11, 2008
9/11
I couldn't let it go, the 911, tragic day, still remember it when I see the news shows, and I still to this day look up and watch the jets fly by everyday, and btw, I live in Seattle, on the landing path, so they fly by often. I remember the day all the planes didn't fly, very weird, I video taped the silence.
At the time I was working in the Columbia Tower, the tallest building in Seattle, so my first thought was not going in to work, it was called off anyway, because of the risk, but watching the towers fall was devastating, just the thought of all those people dying at once...
I've been to the WTC in 1981, was in Philly and decided to visit some friends in upstate NY, and why not visit NYC along the way, John Lennon was killed 3 months earlier, sort of paid homage to him by driving by the Dakota, after that we drove down to WTC, I was taking pictures when the cops forceably asked me to stop and move along, geesch, and that was 1981! Anyway, it's still a hole! after 8 years, y'think they'd have a building there, heck we put up at least 3 or 4 buildings a year in Seattle. Whats up with that?
September 6, 2008
Summer's Back!
Hot and sunny again, hopefully, the weather will stay nice for at least a week. I would like to go biking again, maybe even today! Still in a blah state, still empty inside, not very motivated to produce anything, just doing the very least to get through the day, don't know why I'm still feeling this way, can't seem to shake it, although, I want to.

Eddy, bro, brah, god I miss ya man!
August 19th, Eddy died, I found out on Saturday, August 23rd, I had just got back from a few days at the ocean. I could've checked my email at the hotel, but some reason I let it go, sorta glad I did, cause hearing the news of Eddy dying would've frak'd that up!
A week has gone by, and I'm still feeling blah, and not very excited about anything, I've been thinking about Eddy and all we've been through, and I noticed that Eddy was there each time one of my close friends in college died. Chris, my buddy in art school killed himself, the night I found out, I went drinking with some friends, ended up at a house where Eddy was, I was plastered and for some reason I just gave Eddy my car keys, stayed at his then girlfriends house, got sick and noticed it was all cleaned up, thanks Eddy, that must've been gross...then 6 months later, Stephanie, another art friend from school was murdered, and who was with me that night, Eddy and Kim Garcia, we were heading to DC to see Bo, I guess it all goes together in some sort of something.
August 24, 2008
Breaking News: Eddy's Dead! It's a wonderful life, yeah, right!
Eddys dead... where to begin. Eddy and I had a communication without words, literally, we didn't need to talk, we just knew. I knew Ed for a long time, we did a lot together, we were friends, musicians, drinking buddies, artists, webcode writers, multi-platform mediaists, did theater, rock shows, punk shows, lots of memories, all good, one bad, and it hurts that I'll never see him again.

Summer?
Did I say summer, looks like I'm gonna have to put on my winter coat again and maybe my rain slicker just to take a walk. what a difference a day makes. Maybe the winter coat is a bit much, but the rain gear is a definite. Looks like our ocean getaway is up in the air, trying to find something fun to do for a couple of days, but it's raining around the whole area, damn, wish we were in California..
August 15, 2008
Hot Days of Summer
Finally, something we call summer, sunny, hot and pleasant, but it's not going to last long, wouldn't you know, just in time for our 3 day ocean getaway, they are calling for rain and cooler temps...oh well, I'm just looking further down the road at Fall, which will probably be here next month the way this year is going.
Why so much about the weather, well, I live in Seattle! 'nuff said.. Still working out the design protos for the new indian restaurant website, haven't found that "one" yet, very frustrating, but I'll keep plugging along. For some reason I found myself on Facebook, I'm not a social butterfly but it is a very OCDing
type of thing.

Summertime
July 13th my friends Sam and Kay came to visit for the day, that was nice, haven't seen them in 4 years. We did the usual, Space Needle, Fremont Troll, lunch and dinner in small out of the way places, and catching up on our lives. Judy was out rockhounding for crystals with the rock club, so she didn't get to visit with Sam and Kay.
Susan another friend from way back when damaged her knee and will be healing up for about a year, that's a long time, at least at our age..haha. Speaking of age, haven't been surfing this year, and I really don't know if I will, haven't been keeping in shape and spending a lot of time working copying in June most of the month, and now I have websites and Ads to do this month. Also coming up next month is my 35th high school reunion, which again I will probably miss.
June 27, 2008
Back to Normal
Last night we went to Jazz Alley to see Mose Allison and Larry Coryell, I must admit, chatting with Caroline and Ben was more fun, I don't really remember much of the music cause I think we talked through most of it, it was fun though.
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum is a CD Ben lent me to listen to, if it were 1980, I might like it, but I do like bits of it, and most of it is too syncopated for me, like I said, if it were 1980, I'd probably love it.
I might have another website to do, another indian restaurant, this one at least doesn't have a hint of anything, so hopefully, anything goes. Finally finished up a month of work, I've done nothing but since getting back from Atlanta, and this week, I've had 3 days off and it looks like the weekend too, so, Back to normal, and it's going to be sunny and hot, so bike riding and beer drinking! yea!
June 16, 2008
1st Day of Bicycle Riding
Sunny and 73, a slight warm breeze and I dusted off the bike and pumped up the tires and hit the Burke-Gilman trail, first time this summer. They called me into work again tonight and for the rest of the week, I've only been working everyday now since the beginning of the month with a couple Fridays off just to rest up for the long weekend work. And does anything get done, not really, almost like running on a treadmill. Nothing much on TV or DVDs so I guess a few hours of working a night isn't that bad... I just better hurry and win the lottery, that's all I'm saying...
June 9, 2008
Enuff Already!
It's Summer!! why are we having November temperatures and high winds?! It's ridicules...need I say more?!
yes I will, End of Days! it's coming, weather not normal, high price gas, you can't even eat tomatoes anymore...end of days, yessir, helter skelter, she's coming down fast!

Breaking News: Bo Died
We just got home from visiting Judy's dad in Atlanta on Monday, and turned on the CNN, Bo Diddley died!
Today, after getting stuff done which had to be taken care of; it's just now starting to sink in a little more. (for those who don't know, Bo)
I have the whole story of Bo and me on Archive 2007) so I'm listening to Bo and just remembering and mourning.
Our band, The Names in 1981 had Bo's son Anthony "To Diddley" as would be drummer and he needed some drums, so we headed to Florida to bum some money and meet Bo Diddley, I mean he is the father of rock and roll! Anyway, we spent a week on his ranch, ate, drank and jammed, he was really a nice host. I was also led to believe he was looking for a back up band for South America and Australia tour, but that audition thing was bogus.
But we still had a good time, almost had a chance to see Jerry Lee Lewis he was giving a concert near by, but I was a little obnoxious so we didn't get to go. I did see Bo again in Seattle in 1984, dude still remembered me, he was like that.
May 24, 2008
Light and Fluffy
Work is done! I actually did make some copies this month, just under the wire too. Ads are done, just waiting for the early morning get up call Wed. to head for the airport and sit on a plane for 5 hours, fun! Gas today was 4.09 maybe more, I forgot to look on the way home. Sunny and hot (humid) but not like it's going to be next week! Oh boy!
May 21, 2008
On Our Way Again
We had a hot Saturday, and then a little warm Sunday, now it's back to the coats with an umbrella, but heading to Georgia, where it'll be sweltering probably, finishing up a bunch of Ads and stuff before heading out and trying to keep calm about everything, and catching the last of the season's TV shows which some aren't coming back and it looks like the TV exec's don't like me watching their new shows I guess...anyway, at least it's summer somewhere and the gasoline is climbing up there, today it was $3.99 a bargin from the one station downtown at $4.05 a gallon...whoo hoo!
May 9, 2008
And We're Back!
So, we had a nice time in Arizona, I swam a little better this time, each time I get better, so sometime I may be ready to head to the beach again and try surfing...we took a drive to Fountain Hills to see the huge fountain. I managed to not get sunburned, but did get some weird bumps on our bodies, whatever that is..managed to get upgraded to first class on the way home, always a treat. Went to a nice restaurant for Judy's birthday celebration dinner called the Landmark, looked like a movie set with a dining room made out like a house, with a kitchen for the incredible salad bar. But we're back, Judy is busy as usual, I have a deadline to get a new Ad ready for Seattle Sound magazine for the upcoming Face a Face trunk show, and updating my websites. Redesigned Innercore to get out of the dark spot I was in and made it look "lighter" and I still have to do something with Asloc22 and Donnneon.com, and continue trying to finish Elmer flash movie for Pixar, I guess I'm still thinking about that, like I want a career or something...
April 16, 2008
Busy as a Bee Still
You know after scanning a couple of scenes of my flash movie I was thinking of sending to Pixar, I might just rethink that, the animation isn't as good as I remembered it and I might have to work a bit more on it, so I'm probably nixing the idea of working at Pixar. But, I did give it a try and hurt my elbow doing it, so I'm gonna take it slower and focus on having "fun" with it instead of busting my ass on getting it done and out. Anyway, I have a lot more Ads to create and deadlines, and they have me still copying nightly, so I'm pretty booked up until the vacation time, so la-dee-da.
April 12, 2008
Busy as a Bee
I'm going to copy tomorrow, 2nd time this month, work is picking up! Working on a Ad for 4 Your Eyes Only a newspaperish Journal thingy. For some unknown reason I started putting together a DVD of an old movie I never finished, and I'm thinking about sending it to Pixar for a possible job? I must be crazy!, the reason, so many signs are pointing to it.. I opened an email from Animation Magazine, which I always get, but never really open them and saw the Ad, plus it was a couple of months old, sooo, maybe they haven't found anyone yet...Then I saw that Pixar is located two blocks from a shopping mall I helped make an animated commercial for in the '80's, and I read that Pixar is booking up to make lots of movies with Disney by 2012, sooo, plus I saw a TV show with Powell Street on the trolley, which is where the shopping mall is located, so I'm thinking there's a reason for all these signs.. at least my crazy mind is finding them...anyway, at least it sparked me to do some animation, since working on websites, I really haven't done any since 2003, when I participated in a global laser thingy..(don't know what else to call it). I may be putting together a website for my friend Mark's band, we'll see. Two more weeks and we're in sunny Arizona! Yea! A real vacation!
April 3, 2008
What Can I Say
So today is the 27th anniversary of my friend Stephanie's murder, I found a picture of her a couple of months ago on the internet, I still get choked up when I think about that week of her being missing and found dead...I hate April 3rd
I just read a blog of a former co-worker who was laid off from the place we use to work, the times they are a changing. At least I thought she'd get to retire from there if anyone.
I did see Jennifer from Trophy Cupcakes on Martha Stewart today, it's funny, it was like watching Jennifer on TV, I didn't get all giddy or anything, guess that's what age does for you, plus I've had other friends on TV, so I guess it's just a "thing". The doctor said everything is fine with my tongue, just weird how it is, at least it's nothing that my warped freaky mind conclusion was, shocked that my BP was normal, still could lose 15lbs, but I'm working on it, hopefully before we get to Arizona, but I doubt I can work miracles.
Received my new CDs in the mail, Cradle of Filth is good, so is Within Temptation and Nightwish, all big orchestrated music with hard rock, like I said age changes everything. 10 years ago I would've laughed at listening to music with strings and horns, etc. if it wasn't total gore and heavy it was nothing to listen to.
March 27, 2008
Truly Global
Judy just told me that Trophy Cupcakes, the cupcake shop in the Wallingford Center is going to be on Martha Stewart April 3rd, wow, do you realize what that means, Innercore Datatek Global Systems, my website company, could very well be global, if someone goes to Trophy's website and clicks on the link to Wallingford Center, that would link my IDGS site to the world, for reals, that's fierce, at least in "A legend in my own mind, fierce!". I'm just saying...
In other news, got a major haircut, you can view it on my videoBLOG (gotta warn ya, the page is massive in way of MBytes), plus, I'm going to the doctors next Tuesday to see why I have a sore sensitive tastebud irritated tongue, what web we weave huh?!

Happy Birthday cont.
I stand corrected, my father and aunt, did send a birthday card after all, so I feel better about the DNA donors actually coming thru. I also drank the surprise champagne in about a half hour and needless to say had a hangover that only champagne can provide, so the birthday tradition of getting totally wasted prevails yet another year.
March 5, 2008
Happy Birthday
4:20pm -Looks like it's that time of the year again. A time to reflect, think about the past, the present, the future, in other words, a typical day. But it's sunny outside and here I am inside blogging...oh well, HB 2 me anyways...there'll be beer, don't you worry!
11:59pm - Well another one bites the dust, glad that's over, not that I mind having a free dinner of steak and escargot and cheesecake and guinny, but birthdays are stressful. My long time pal Reno sent his annual email, still after 23 years, that's really cool. Dave and his daughter sent cards, and Betsy called, nothing from my dad, but like Reno, it's expected or not expected, whatever. But I was surprised by Judy again, she had a bottle of champagne and a card in the fridge when we got back from dinner, surprise, suprise! she's great with surprises.

Under the Weather
Judy was sick this weekend, and I think she gave it to me, coz today I'm feeling a little bit "sick", hopefully, I can fight it off. Re-designing Western Type's website, well, trying to re-design it, still haven't come up with anything desirable yet. This weekend is the rock club's annual gemshow, Judy is chairperson on top of everything else going on in her life, she has to deal with that, but it's over on Sunday. Then we have to make plans to go to Arizona for my birthday, at least I hope we do, coz it would be nice to just hang at the pool and hot tub and just do nothing for awhile.

Nothing Much to Say
I seem to be a little scatterbrained lately, don't seem to have much accomplished lately, been making copies at work the last few days and still trying to understand ActionScript, but one of my website clients wants to change his website, so I guess I'm in a pre-design way of thinking, meaning, I have to re-design the thing and I was pretty happy with it the way it was. So, now I guess I have to change that thought, so maybe that's why I'm scatterbrained.
ActionScript in itself was hard to get a hand on it, now this other thing, with the copying work, and Judy's stuff at her store and I guess I want to take a vacation, so maybe I do have something to say, other things will remain mute however.
January 20, 2008
Memory Stix
Bad memory stix, how quaint...hopefully, my computer is on to recovery, I know I'll be walking on egg shells for a bit. At least I started reading up on ActionScript, something I've been putting off for years, and now I know why, damn stuff is complicated!
January 16, 2008
Computer Issues
Back to the same ol' same ol', my computer is acting up again and I'm gonna be shutdown for awhile, here's looking at you kid...(until next time, later!)
January 10, 2008
Changes
Looks like I'm in the process of updating everything, donnneon, maybe not everything Innercore, still have to do that soon. Need a break to be at least a little creative.
Still dealing with computer issues or software issues, whatever, it's not smooth sailing, whatever issues they are, but I'm working on it. Change is in the air today, mostly with everything outside myself, but some changes within too, this is cryptic in getting out, and I guess that's what "change" is.
January 8, 2008
New Year, Old Friends
Working hard on creating a sign for 4 Your Eyes Only for the hallway in the Wallingford Center, still haven't come up with anything worth mentioning.
Good to hear from a couple of old animation friends, Ward and James both contacted me, that's nice to get back in touch with old friends. My former band mate is playing this weekend in his new band, I'm not sitting in if they ask, I don't really remember the songs, it's been over 15 years since I've been in the band. Working on updating my news page with some flash webcam video and it's a bit hokey and goofy. but, I'm pressed for time, as usual and I'm still busy doing things getting in the way.
January 4, 2008
New Year
Well, it's the new year, haven't been too busy, but just enuff, waiting for the tv season to start up once again. Great to watch Craig Ferguson the other night, I did miss his show, the rest of the late night I can take 'em or leave 'em. Jay does have the best monologue, next to Craig of course.
Trying to get caught up on website designs and updates, and still making graphics/logo/webdesigning, etc for 4 Your Eyes Only
Breezy and rainy, but it is January in Seattle, and hopefully this year again snow will by pass us. I really don't want to go on the roof and shovel snow from the roof vents to stop the dripping of light fixtures. (you'd have to be there to get that one I guess). Not a pretty sight, I must say.
